Unlike a standalone keystone coupler, these products combine a snap-in front connector with a flexible cable tail. This structure allows the rear connector to reach equipment positioned away from the wall plate or panel opening.

Use USB 2.0 for keyboards, control interfaces, printers and other equipment that does not require high-speed transfer.
Choose a USB 3.0 or USB-C model for storage, cameras, conferencing equipment and other higher-bandwidth devices. Confirm the actual published data rate instead of relying only on terms such as “USB 3.0” or “USB-C.”
For USB-C projects, specify whether the connection must support data, charging and video. These functions depend on the complete cable assembly and the connected equipment.

The flexible pigtail structure can reduce stress on an internal device port and gives installers more freedom when the device is not aligned directly behind the keystone opening.
Custom USB keystone cable projects usually begin with an installation problem rather than a request for a different color or logo. The cable must fit the panel opening, reach the internal device, avoid interference with nearby modules, and maintain the required USB performance after installation.
Provide the keystone opening dimensions, panel thickness, latch direction, and available rear installation depth. A standard front module may still be unsuitable if the rear housing is too large or the cable cannot bend within the enclosure.
For crowded wall plates or equipment panels, also specify the spacing between adjacent modules.
Confirm the required connector on both sides of the assembly, such as:

The connector gender and orientation should match the external user interface and the internal device port.
